ABOUT
The American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry has served the psychiatric profession since 1967. Focusing on teen, adolescent, and young adult issues, ASAP acts both as a professional network for its members and a specialized community dedicated to education development and advocacy of adolescents and the adolescent psychiatric field.

We offer ongoing continuing education opportunities online or in person and also sponsor a Board Certification Program that offers General Psychiatrists the opportunity to advance their training and credentials in this critical specialty without formal fellowship training.
Regular Membership is open to any licensed psychiatrist. Trainee Membership is open to psychiatric residents, fellows, and medical students, & Associate Membership is open to professionals with education, training, and a post-baccalaureate degree in a mental health or related field. This includes psychologists, social workers, ARNP's, PA's, counselors, non-psychiatrist physicians, and may include other disciplines. We also offer an organizational membership option to institutions in which all clinical staff and trainees are ASAP Members at no charge through an institutional affiliation agreement arrangement.

MISSION
The American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of mental health disorders of adolescents and young adults and to the provision of optimal health care of patients. To achieve these goals, ASAP provides continuing medical education (CME) program for physicians, primarily psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals. CME programs must meet the standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, improve the ability of psychiatrists and other physicians to recognize, diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions in adolescents and young adults, and disseminate new scientific knowledge and innovative clinical techniques and programs. Types of CME offerings are plenary sessions, lectures, workshops, panels, case conferences, demonstrations and questions and answers.
